Exercises and wargaming

Design and conduct exercises and analytical wargames around operational objectives and decisions.

Exercise design

Human decisions within the mission thread.

Exercise objectives connect participant decisions to observable actions and assessment measures.

Engineering scope

PALLC develops exercises and analytical wargames for mission preparation, concept exploration and operational assessment. Sponsor objectives define the problem, participant decisions, operational environment and measures used to assess the outcome.

We connect scenario design, master scenario events lists, injects, controller and evaluator materials, and after-action review. Analytical wargaming examines courses of action through structured adjudication, recording assumptions, decisions and consequences so sponsors can compare alternatives and refine plans.

SI-assisted preparation, executable models and LVC integration support the event design. Model-informed adjudication and retained decision histories help assess how system performance, information availability and participant choices affect mission outcomes.

SCENARIO / DECISION / REVIEW

Keep decisions available for replay.

ZMS combines scenario phases, timed injects, participant-response journals and decision histories. Exercise gates freeze commitments so subsequent replay and after-action review retain what participants decided at the time.
